Aim

His goal is to humanize the public perception of scientists by providing alternatives to the common ‘mad scientist’ or ‘nerd’ stereotypes in fiction. He writes stories about scientists both inside and outside of academia to show them as complex, relatable individuals.

Biography

Florian Puhm, PhD, has over a decade of experience as a biologist in scientific research focusing on immunology and hematology. Originally from Austria, he has lived, worked and studied in Austria (Vienna), Canada (Quebec City) and Denmark (Copenhagen). He has also served as a face-to-face fundraiser and team leader for Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières), patrolling the streets of Vienna in search of generous donors. Currently, he works as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Lung Health at Clinic Hietzing.
